Eddie Van Halen was born in Amsterdam in 1955 and his family moved to Pasadena, CA in 1962. Eddie’s father was a Jazz performer who played piano, clarinet, and the sax. Eddie and his older brother Alex took piano lessons as kids and were both musically talented. Alex began playing guitar and Eddie took up drums. Van Halen was formed in the early 70’s by Guitarist Eddie and his brother drummer Alex Van Halen. They have sense added Eddie’s son Wolfgang named after, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Wolfgang replaced long time bass guitarist Michael Anthony. David Lee Roth was the original singer from 1978-1985 and returned to the band in 2006, and Sammy was with the band from 1986-1996 and came back for a short time.
