In a recent interview with Indiewire, Roland Emmerich has revealed that two scripts have been completed for his sequel to Independence Day. Actor Will Smith has not officially been announced to reprise his role as Captain Steven Hiller. So if the actor chooses not to join the cast, Emmerich now has a back up script to move forward.
