‘The Best G.I.Joe Christmas Haul’ Story By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Christmas is among us. This weekend I want to get into one of my favorite years and one of my largest Joe hauls as a child. 1987 was an interesting year for G.I. Joe. There had been a great success in the Joe franchise up to this point and many say that G.I. Joe had peaked and was heading down. This was the year I received the most vehicles and maybe even figures. The top vehicle I got that year was the Mobile Command Center.

This is one of my all-time favorite play sets and I never had a Flagg, but this was awesome for someone who thought there was a chance in 1985 Santa would be dropping a Flagg off. This is a great large vehicle but there were several smaller vehicles my brothers and I got that year that were pure gold. One I love and still have that might not be a popular vehicle is the Buzz Boar. This one was just a classic style Cobra Vehicle made for pure destruction.

Among that I got several other vehicles like the Wolf, Maggot, and Mamba on the Cobra side and Road Toad, SLAM, and Persuader on the Joe side. I did get the Dominator from the Battle Force 2000 Line, but as bad as I wanted all the other vehicles I only got this 1. I received a lot of the vehicles from this year and I love them all. I also got a lot of the figures this year as well. Out of the 20+ figures my brothers and I got that year, Jinx, Falcon, and Gung-Ho, Raptor, Crystal Ball, and Techno-Viper are among my many favorite from this year. It’s too hard to pick one I just love them all. Who had a great 1987 Christmas? What did you get, Joe or non Joe? Sound off AFTER THE JUMP and let us know. Make sure to check back for our next discussion and I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas.
