CBS today confirmed that the original CSI was over after fifteen seasons, but that there will be a conclusion for the series. Confirming rumors, the network announced a two-hour TV movie event will air September 27th and that original CSI stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger will return for it.
CBS promised an “epic finale”, with network executive Kelly Kahl noting the series was “very important to the network. It was one of the shows that helped us reverse our directions. I’m very happy we can send it off in the right way.”
