Hello everyone. Many times I’m remembering stars who have passed but today I’m going to talk about one who reached a milestone. Many stars have been fortunate enough to reach several milestones such as 50, 75, and one actress joined the 90 club last week. Barbara Eden best known for playing Jeannie in the hit sitcom “I Dream of Jeannie”, which ran from 1965-1970. The show was before my time but I grew up on a steady diet of reruns of the show.
Eden was born I Arizona but moved to San Francisco with her mother after her parents divorced. She started entertaining in her teens and she has done a ton of work over the years. She started picking up larger rolls in shows like I Love Lucy, Gunsmoke, and The Andy Griffith Show. She hit gold when she got the job as Jeannie. It is still a great show and many episodes are timeless.
After I Dream of Jeannie ended she had several other rolls including Stella on Harper Valley PTA, Aunt Irma in Sabrina the Teenage Which, and Ruth on George Lopez. She also has done several movies and tv films as well. She has been through tough times and great times and the world has changed so much from 1931 till now. Eden had been able to stay healthy over the years and she looks great at 90. I’m hoping she is able to stay healthy and continue to make appearances or maybe even star in another sitcom like another star and American Idol Betty White has done. Here is to 90 and many more birthdays cheers to Barb Eden and thank you for all the years of entertainment you have provided.
