The POP-EXPOSE ‘BRACKET BUSTED’!

Every year since the late 1990’s I’ve filled out a bracket for the NCAA basketball tournament. Most years by this point my bracket is busted. Think of the odds of guessing a perfect bracket. The first week is always been my favorite and I’m sure millions of other people as well. This is the week where a number 1 seed has never lost, but have been very close. There have been a handful of number 2 seeds upset, and the rest of the field has been wide open over the years for buzzer beaters, slam dunks, long ball, and some pretty memorable moments from coaches, players, commentators, and fans. It’s fun to root for your favorite team, but I also like the underdog and the unlikely hero who steps up and hits a clutch shot to seal the deal to move on to the next round.
I’ve always loved basketball. It is a great sport that can be played 5 on 5 or played just by yourself in the driveway. I played grade school ball and a couple years in High school. My first college team I liked as a kid was Michigan. When I first started taking an interest in sports on TV, the Fab Five were the newest craz. I spent a good number of years fallowing Michigan, but eventually I became a Syracuse fan after living here for the past 15 years, it’s kind of hard to not become a fan, as I would think in any college town. Sometimes your team wins, sometimes they loose, and sometimes they get wacked up side the head, kind of like SU this year.
So once we get through this weekend, I hope to have enough teams left to make a run at my money pool. Most of all though I look forward to some great competition and hopefully some close games down to the wire, overtime, upset city, over the top yelling at the TV(even though the only one listening is the wife and kids). All in all it is a really fun time of year weather or not your bracket survives or your favorite team, sit back and enjoy the dance.
