THE POP EXPOSE ‘Mötley Crüe’ By Mitchell Smith!

Mötley Crüe is an American Heavy Metal band that formed in 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, lead guitarist Mick Mars, and lead singer Vince Neil. The band has stayed pretty much together the whole time with a couple slight breaks do mostly to drug abuse. Although they have had some rough patches, they remain one of the most popular bands. There is a 2019 movie on Netflix about their story called “The Dirt”.

The movie is pretty wild and goes into how the band formed and some of the problems they face as a band including drug and alcohol addiction. They did some pretty crazy shit in their younger days and there are some great scenes in the movie about when they toured with Ozzie Osbourne and touches on Tommy Lee’s marriage to Heather Locklear, who was one of the top actresses at the time and starred in many shows including TJ Hooker, Dynasty, and (one I grew up on) Melrose Place. They had a number of hits including “Same Ol’ Situation”, “Shout at the Devil”, and one of my personal favorites “Home Sweet Home”. They also did some cover songs like “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” and the Sex Pistols’ “Anarchy in the U.K.” They have a line up of great songs and if you have not caught “The Dirt: it is definitely worth checking out.
