THE POP EXPOSE ‘Remembering Richard Donner’ By Mitchell Smith!

Good morning everybody. Today We are remembering Richard Donner born in 1930 and sadly passed away at the age of 91 on July 5th. Donner is director and producer for many movies and shows from 1957 to 2009. Some of his most memorable movies include Superman from the Chris Reeves era, The Goonies, Lethal Weapon, and the Christmas classic Scrooged. He also had a hand in many TV shows most memorable for me is Tales from the Crypt and their spin offs.

Growing up The Superman movies were some of the best from their time. We didn’t have the technology to create wide spread Destruction, so some of the large scale scenes are a bit cheesy by today’s standards, so it was important for the actors and actresses to bring a huge performance to make it all come together and Donner was able to do that and create one of the most iconic films of the eighties. He didn’t stop there though as he was director and producer of a young bunch of kids and once again made a timeless classic with The Goonies.

What can you say about Lethal Weapon? A franchise that started in the eighties and rolled into the nineties. Once again Donner was director and producer of another staple franchise of movies. Donner was a great man and his legacy will live on through all of his work and his legacy will carry on for years to come as a lot of what he had a hand in is still popular and entertaining today. Rest In Peace Mr. Donner you are truly a remarkable person.
