THE POP EXPOSE ‘Saving Private Ryan’ by Mitchell Smith!

Hello all, I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Today I’m discussing the movie Saving Private Ryan. I had a chance to catch this one last week and this is such a great movie. Tom Hanks stars in this instant WWII classic. The story opens up with the Normandy beach landing known as D-Day and follows a group of soldiers through France and Germany as they look for the last remaining brother of 4. He may or may not have suffered the fate of his 3 brothers killed in action.

Ryan played by Matt Damon is of course found but not without a cost. Ryan who is saddened by the news of his brothers does not feel he can abandon his post or his brothers in arms. This was groundbreaking when it came out as it gave a true sense of the physical and mental aspects of one of the largest and most brutal wars in history and one of the bloodiest battles of our time. This movie was followed up with the mini series Band of Brothers and The Pacific both about WWII.

Hanks had a hand in making all 3. I was able to find a couple figures from the movie and there are a bunch of new pre orders for various characters on my favorite 12 inch site Monkey Depot. These are really cool and realistic looking. My grandfather was one who landed on the beaches of Normandy and marched into Germany with the 5th Armored division and my boss’s father landed in Normandy with the Airborne division and I wondered while watching Saving Private Ryan if they by some chance may have crossed paths at some point. I will never know the answer to that but this movie puts into perspective he possibility that they very well could have. If you have never watched this movie be sure to put it in you must watch list. Good day all make sure to check back for next weeks story. Are you a fan of Saving Private Ryan? Sound off below and let us know!
