Hello everyone, today I am going to take a look at one of the most important voice actors in American History, Frank Welker. Frank Welker was born March 12, 1946. Welker was born in Colorado and began his career doing stand up and impressionist and landed his first big roll as Fred Jones from Scooby Doo. From there he would become the biggest voice acting star with a career spanning over 6 decades. He voiced many familiar characters in feature films such as Megatron, Wheelie, and Soundwave in the 1986 Transformers the movie.

He voiced Torch, Wild Bill, and Order in the 1987 G.I.Joe: The Movie, and most recently was Tom and Jerry in the 2021 film. He also voiced many characters in TV series including several Transformers, G.I.Joe, Land Before Time and many others characters and shows. He also did a bunch of voices and animal sounds for movies such as Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Smurfs. His voice work also carried over to the live action versions of these movies. Among his many animal noises he was Simba ’s roar in The Lion King, he was the Reindeer in The Santa Clause, and he was the gopher in Caddy Shack, but his list goes on and on.

He voiced Jabberjaw, Bamm-Bamm Ruble, and the list goes on with 860 film, TV and video game credits. Oh yeah he also has a video game lineup with Transformer, Marvel, and Lego to name a few. I checked out his filmography list on Wikipedia and it is amazing how many voices and animals noises he has been involved in. So many great shows I grew up with and you really get a sense of his accomplishments when you look through some of the all time greatest characters that we all grew up with.
