Who’s ready for Rogue One?

Rogue One is quickly approaching. There is a good amount of hype and expectation from this movie, but I don’t believe it is over the top to where the movie wont be able to live up to it. The first couple trailers have given us a little insight of what to expect. We have gotten a glimpse of some new characters and some familiar ones as well. I have to say I think the new characters look great, the movie looks like it will be awesome, but I wasn’t overly excited until I saw the flash of some familiar characters such as Mon Mothma and Darth Vader. I’m hoping that Vader isn’t just in the last 30 seconds of the movie.

I’ve been watching Star Wars movies for 35 years and maybe it’s just me, but I don’t get sick and tired of any of the original characters. I think Disney should try to incorporate all and any of the original characters into the upcoming lineup of Star Wars based movies that they can. Now I’m not saying I don’t want to see fresh and new faces, but my personal feeling is Lucas did such a great job creating a universe, that you shouldn’t fix it if it aint broken. If this was just some other Sci-fi movie this looks completely awesome, but this isn’t just some other Sci-fi movie, it is a Star Wars movie, so I feel the only way it works is by embracing what is there and building the new characters around the existing characters and stories.

I’m not trying to say Rogue One will be a bad movie in any way, it looks Awesome and this will definitely be my holiday movie to go see in 3D with my family. I just hope that they will keep enough of the franchise staples in the movie to keep the fans in the franchise. Never the less I’m stoked and can’t wait for this one to hit theaters so far it looks like it will not disappoint.
