THE POP EXPOSE – ‘Young Guns’ Story By Mitchell Smith!

Hello everyone. Today I’m taking a look at one of my favorite Westerns the 1988 film Young Guns. This is such a great film that captures one of the most famous outlaws Billy The Kid and his outlaw gang. The cast was full of stars including Emilio Estevez as Billy and his rag tag team of outlaws. Charlie Sheen plays Dick Brewer the level headed leader who is always trying to do the right thing.

Kiefer Southerland is Doc another level headed gang member who falls for the young slave girl of their arch enemy Murphy who is the rich land and cattle owner that terrorizes the locals. Lou Diamond Phillips who is Chavez the Navaho who lost his entire trib and acts as a guid to the rest of the gang as he leads them through the Native reservation when they are on the run. Dermot Mulroney and Casey Siemaszko round out the gang as Dirty Steve and Charlie.

The movie did follow many events that happened with The real Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County War. This is a really entertaining movie and has a lot of history of how things were run back then and why it is called the Wild West today. This movie is in my top 10 all time favorite movies and one I keep on DVD in this digital era. Stay safe all and have a great week.
