G.I. JOE UNDERAPPRECIATED FEATURING ‘SKY CREEPER’!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out 1991 G.I. Joe Sky Creeper the Cobra Air Recon Leader. This is one I did not know about until I got into collecting in the mid 2000s. Funny enough I always thought this was a trooper and just recently realized he is an individual which really made me take a step back and look at this guy and say now that’s a horse of a different color. I wouldn’t say I didn’t like this guy but seeing he was an individual character made him more interesting to me as many later cobra characters were all troopers and vipers, and as cool as many of them were it is great to see some individuals with character and a cool backstory.

I think this figure might have been really cool with a removable helmet but I guess the fixed helmet adds to his mystique. He does come with a really cool pistol and a glider that was designed for some rugged play. I looked through all my extra weapons and I don’t seem to own his pistol, but I added a photo with it because it is a cool unique weapon.

There was a modern convention version in 2016 which would have been cool to see at retail but he got the hardcore collectors treatment. From what I can gather he was not in any animated series but was in an issue of the comics. Overall this is a cool figure and a cool character. Who had this one as a kid?
