12-Inch Comeback: Rediscovering G.I. Joe’s Forgotten Giants from 2009!

Story By Mitchell Smith
Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m rolling it back a bit when GI Joe along with other companies still made 12 inch figures. In 2009 “The Rise of Cobra” was released along with several cool 3-3/4 inch figures and vehicles both from the movie along with some classic characters from our childhood such as Chuckles from the assault on Cobra Island pack. Along with these were also some really cool 12 inch figures from the Movie as well as figures based on the ARAH line like Short-Fuze and Snowjob.
2009 had a really cool Movie Storm Shadow figure with some sound and moving parts controlled by a button on his back. I also found another figure that looked a lot like the unmasked Storm Shadow in the live action movies so I grabbed him and swapped out the uniform to create a whole other figure.
The uniform itself is a leather like material that looks sharp and feels really cool. Overall this is a sharp looking figure and takes my back to a fun time in collecting Joes and a more simpler time in life. Make sure to check back next week for the next discussion at The Outpost.
