Storm Shadow Surprise! The Forgotten 2002 G.I. Joe Figure Hiding in Plain Sight

Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a 2002 G.I. Joe figure that I didn’t know I owned till right now. While digging through some of the more modern figures I found a figure that I thought was a Red Ninja version but come to find out he was 2002 V8 Storm Shadow. After a little further investigation I found that I had most of his original weapons so I figured why not take a closer look into his detail. He comes with 2 swords that originally came with the 1989 Snake Eyes.

I wondered if this was tied to the Arashikage clan or just a cheap way to give weapons to Storm Shadow as he also came with the same sub machine gun. The sword sheath backpack is solid and the swords fit snugly so no complaints here. This figure does have some nice detail and is a repaint of the 2002 V7. I think the darker colors help the details pops bit more. V7 does have a classic white outfit and V8 is just as cool in my opinion.

Overall this is an interesting Storm Shadow and I’d say this falls into the top 10 of Storm Shadow figures. Who had this one back in the day? Where do you rank this version? Make sure to check back next week for the next discussion at The Outpost.
