At a time when Miami Vise was very popular and in the main stream, GI Joe the movie was able to pull in Miami Vice lead character Don Johnson to do the voice of Falcon. Someone seemed to miss the…

The Eco Warriors are a G.I. Joe sub group created in 1991. I believe the idea was about the battle against bio hazard sludge dumped by factories, which was portrayed by the main Villain Cesspool, who was inadvertently knocked into his own vat of sludge that he intended to use for good, but he was mildly deformed and turned to evil. Flint was the Eco leader and Ozone and Clean Sweep were two original characters created for the 91 lineup. I like the concept and design for these 3 characters.…

Joecon is Being Replaced with Hascon?

April 18, 2016April 20, 2016 Serpentorslair StaffFunPub, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, HasCon0 comment

We all know that the G.I.Joe Convention run by FunPub, is coming to an end with its final convention this coming July. Now it looks like Hasbro is going to be keeping future conventions ‘in house’, but not in a way that looks to be pleasing to G.I.Joe Fans. According to Hisstank, Hasbro has purchased the trademark for, ‘Hascon‘, which could be interpreted as a possible yearly convention to showcase Hasbro’s toy properties. What does this mean for G.I.Joe fans and collectors? Most likely, it means no more ‘diorama contests’,…

The GI Joe Star Brigade was introduced in 1993 and ended in 1994. Various figures good and bad were dressed in space uniforms. The line was aimed for Joes to protect the universe. This was a long line of Semi- non military sub groups I guess aimed to please parents that did not want their children playing with military based toys, or perhaps they were trying to hop on the success of Star Wars. Either way they were heading in the right direction but , with just 4 vehicles and…

Today on Facebook Hasbro employee Vinne D’Alleva admitted what i have been saying all along. That Hasbro thinks ARAH vs Cobra is offensive to parents who want to have ‘PC’ children. So they are not going to sell that product anymore. Below is a direct quote from him. In addition to this, Hasbro is a large contributor financially to anti-gun legislation. This also has a big tie in with their decision to try and Neuter G.I.Joe from being a military toy, into something totally different. What is your opinion? Join…

The POP-EXPOSE G.I.Joe 1983 The 1983 line up for G.I. Joe set the bar and skyrocketed the series. Along with the comics came a cartoon, and with the success of the 1982 action figure line, they were able to expand and enhance the new line of Joes and their enemy, Cobra. Many staple figures and vehicles were created in 1983 including the unmistakable G.I. Joe base. The Joe base was the face of the cartoon and the playset was just awesome, and the biggest playset at the time. It had…
