Since Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot joined the cast of ‘Batman Vs. Superman‘ we’ve been wondering how much of the film would function as ‘Justice League: Origins.’ Now that Ray Fisher has joined the cast as Cyborg, there’s no mistaking that the film is meant to launch DC’s version of ‘The Avengers.’
The news come from Variety, who note that Fisher’s role as Cyborg won’t be all that big. Fisher made his reputation as a stage actor, as he has only one credit currently on the IMDb (for a short film at that), but his work in the play ‘Fetch Clay, Make Man’ (where he portrayed Muhammad Ali) was so attention-getting that he was up for both this and ‘Star Wars: Episode 7.’ But the fact that Warner has announced both his and Gadot’s participation ahead of time suggests they will be active in the universe, or — that is to say — they won’t just show up at the end to suggest that all the superheroes work together.
Currently we know that the film will feature ‘Man of Steel‘ stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, along with Affleck, Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and more under the guidance of director Zack Snyder. What we don’t know for sure is the film’s title, nor if the release date of May 6, 2016 will hold as it’s currently scheduled to open up against ‘Captain America 3.’
