Welcome to the Outpost. This week I’m taking a look at the 1995 vehicles. As we all know G.I Joe took and abrupt halt on the 3-3/4 inch figures and vehicles, but did try and launch other lines. They had the Sgt Savage line and the Extreme line. The P-40 Warhawk is a really cool WWII plane. I do have the SGT Savage figures and this would be cool to have. The Iron Panther is a real cool tank, this is another one that would be cool to have. Finally for the last of the SGT Savage vehicles The Grizzly SS-1 is a jeep.
I don’t have any of these but I do have the 1993 12 inch Jeep Rhino that looks very similar to the Grizzly. I think these look very cool and would be nice to have in my collection. The Extreme line was one I got figures and vehicles in a collection I bought. So I have some of these vehicles and I think all the figures. The Bone Splitter actually fits the new 6 inch line. Well one figure can squeeze in there, but they look a bit awkward. Nevertheless this is vehicle that can be used for the time being.
The Sand Striker is a cool little tank type vehicle that looks like a late 92-93 style Joe vehicle. I have this one and it’s not horrible. The Sky Stalker I do not have but I think it looks like the modern Night Raven that got smacked in the nose. I couldn’t find much info on it so not sure this one is very popular. The Road Bullet is a futuristic motorcycle. My local comic book store has had one in his back room for years, so maybe I’ll buy it from him.
The Detonator is a stationary cannon that resembles the original Flack. It actually is a neat little cannon. Finally The Spitfire is another stationary cannon, that is cool but nothing really special. They all had some sort of dart missile that could be fired. Over all these are some interesting vehicles in this time frame when the face of G.I. Joe was changing drastically. Does anyone else have any of these vehicles? Which is your favorite out of the 2 lines? MAKE THE JUMP to the forums and let us know. Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
