G.I.Joe

G.I.Joe ‘AIRTIGHT’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at one of my favorite 1985 G.I.Joe characters Airtight. One of the most memorable episodes for me was the Fun House where Airtight and several others were captured by Cobra Commander and forced to go through a maze of obstacles meant to hurt them. This is one I did not have as a kid but I do have a couple now. I also was fortunate enough to find the modern version which is really awesome.

I really wanted a modern version Airtight back before he was produced, back before I had an original figure in my collections, so I tried my hand at customizing a Star Wars figure. It worked for me and I still use the head on my modern Airtight figure. I’ve also recently been working on a custom 12 inch figure of Airtight and so far I think it looks good. Now as far as the future of Airtight I would love to see him along with many others in a 6 inch version.

He naturally would have a removable helmet and would look awesome I’m guessing. Over all this is one of my favorite characters and I love his uniqueness. Who would love to see a 6 inch Airtight in the near future? Who would love to see Airtight released in the Retro 3-3/4 inch lineup? Sound off below and let us know! Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
