Welcome to the Outpost, today I’m taking a look at a a cool original G.I.Joe vehicle. The 1982 Flak Cannon. This is a cool vehicle and even though it is a stationary vehicle this is one that packs a big punch. I did have one of these as a kid and I loved it back then as much as I do now. Simple but effective this is one to have to defend the Joe base or ground vehicles. Strangely enough this is one Cobra used in the first season of GI Joe but I think it was because of the lack of Cobra vehicles at the time.
I’m happy it was used though. Some of the small vehicles like the MMS, Hal, and Jump I don’t believe were ever used in the cartoon. There was a very short lived 2009 release of a modern Flak that came with the modern Outback with his white shirt. This one was cut short and a lot of fans got the short end of the stick on that deal. This would have been awesome to get. The original line of Joes relied on selling lots of small vehicles to be able to produce so many awesome large vehicles. I would like to see Hasbro take this approach to the 6 inch line.
If we saw some smaller vehicles released like the Flak we could maybe get a Hiss tank or a Vamp. Even some cool scenery packs or weapon packs would sell like hot cakes. Over all the Flak has always been a favorite of mine and normally these can be found in great condition if your looking to collect one. Who had a Flak as a kid? Who would buy a 6 inch Flak?
