G.I.Joe ‘Sins of Our Fathers’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!
Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out a classic G.I.Joe Cartoon episode from 1986. “Sins of Our Fathers”. This was one of my favorite seasons. In this episode Dial-Tone is sent into Cobra Territory. What he does not realize is he was tricked by General Hawk and Flint to believe he is being released by the Joe team so Cobra will hire him and not be able to detect it’s a covert operation. So Dial-Tone ends up resurrecting this giant creature who is sent to destroy Serpentor by Cobra Commander.
In the end Destro helps G.I. Joe defeat the monster as Serpentor attacks the Joes and claims victory not acknowledging that the Joes had just saved his life. This is a great Episode and really brings out the turmoil among the Cobra organization. It’s hard to keep track of who is working for who but it appears Destro’s loyalty is to Serpentor and Dr. Mindbender.
Everyone else seems to be a free for all. Although Zarana appears in this episode to side with Cobra Commander she really seems to be working for the highest payer. I think here real kryptonite is Mainframe though. Over all this is a very entertaining episode. Who else loves this episode? Who loves the 1986 season? Sound off below and let us know AFTER THE JUMP!
