Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m looking at a 1984 G.I.Joe character that came on stage took the show and never looked back, ‘Storm Shadow‘. Storm Shadow is one of those characters who was created and the stories and history exploded around him. I’m not sure if the creators had any idea of what they wanted to do as far as the grand scheme or if they were just creating a really cool looking ninja.
Storm Shadow has been a staple character in the cartoon, comics, and live action movies. He has had tons of figures including 3-3/4, 6 inch, 12 inch, and countless merchandise such as statues, swords, and costumes. My first Storm Shadow was the 1988 version and it was the only one I had as a kid. This is an awesome version and comes with some very awesome weapons. Later in life I was able to track down an original that is still pretty white and had all his weapons.
I think now I have roughly 6 twelve inch versions, 10 o-ring, 16 modern, 2 Sigma Six, and no 6 inch but I hope to get the movie version if it hits stores. I feel like Storm Shadow was a little like Star Wars back in the day. Like they thought he would be a hit but they never imagined him this big. I’ve gathered up some of my favorite versions and tried to make some cool battle scenes for everyone. Which version is your favorite Storm Shadow? Does anyone have any cool pics to share? I always enjoy seeing other people’s perspective in words or in pictures, so don’t be shy and share what you have. Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
