G.I. JOE UNDERAPPRECIATED FEATURING ‘GOLOBULUS’!

Story by Mitchell Smith
Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out the 1987 G.I. Joe figure Golobulus. He is a member of Cobra-La, an ancient and powerful civilization that exists beneath the Himalayas. Golobulus is the leader of Cobra-La and an under appreciated character.
Golobulus first appeared in the 1987 animated film, “Gi Joe: The Movie“, and one I thought was an interesting new character back in the day. I know there are many who did not like the path Gi Joe was taking but I loved the Cobra-La. Many characters from this movie are still my favorite, from Pythona(curse the makers for not making her at a reasonable retail price), Nemesis Enforcer, and Golobulus. I had this figure as a kid and he was really cool. Now the possibility is what hinders this figure, and probably what many did not like about him. He is hard to pose but his body is bendable so play value is solid just hard to set up for a pic. I did find a body a couple years ago that I think fits the upper portion very nicely and makes for a nice pose-able shot. Overall he is a cool character in the movie and I hope to see another version of him some day perhaps a nice pose-able Classified figure wink wink! Who had this as a kid? Who loves the 1987 movie?
