“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Unveils Chilling Teaser for Epic Franchise Reunion”
After years of relentless pleas from fans, the long-awaited third installment of the Ghostbusters franchise finally graced our screens in 2021 with “Ghostbusters: Afterlife.” And, remarkably, Ghostbusters is back as a thriving ongoing franchise. Just two years later, we’re treated to the first glimpse of “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” a sequel that directly continues the Afterlife story and promises an epic team-up with both the beloved original cast and the new generation.
While “Afterlife” transported us to the ghost-hunting adventures in Oklahoma, “Frozen Empire” brings the franchise back to its roots in the bustling streets of New York City. However, this time, the city faces a chilling menace in the form of a malevolent ghost that can freeze people to death. The task of defending the city from these otherworldly threats falls upon the surviving Ghostbusters team—Venkman, Stanz, and Zeddemore—alongside Egon Spengler’s family from “Afterlife” and the unlikely but enthusiastic addition of Paul Rudd, who has transitioned from being an unremarkable public school teacher in Oklahoma to a fearless Ghostbuster.
“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” was co-written and co-produced by Jason Reitman, the son of the original Ghostbusters director, Ivan Reitman, who also directed “Ghostbusters: Afterlife.” This time, the directorial reins have been passed to Gil Kenan, Reitman’s co-writer from “Afterlife,” ensuring the franchise’s creative continuity. The star-studded cast includes all the key players from “Afterlife” such as Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace. Moreover, it’s a grand reunion as it features the return of the iconic actors from the original films, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts. Joining this stellar ensemble are new stars Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt.
Get ready for a chilling and nostalgia-filled ride as “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” takes the franchise to new heights while paying homage to its beloved roots.
