Hanging With My Brothers and Getting That G.I. Journey

By Destro Designs – Viper Den Studios
As we close in on the weekend, we take another step toward having Adam, the creator of this glorious site, step into Viper Den Studios and get down with his G.I. Journey while talking about the road that led to creating The Lair.
Whenever somebody comes on the show for the first time, I like to have the show center around their G.I. Journey—all the things that shaped them as collectors and everything that went down throughout the years while growing up.
Whether it was constant collecting or there were some “Dark Ages,” as most of us have had at some point, we want to talk about what you enjoyed as a kid, what you picked up over the years, and what eventually brought you back to collecting as an adult.
Or, in this case, what inspired someone to start a site centered around ’80s nostalgia and all things awesome—like G.I. Joe.
Everyone who has come on the show has been so good at filling us in on their road to adult collecting and where that journey eventually took them. I feel like the community grows stronger through these moments because they give us a solid foundation for understanding who that person really is—not just who we think they are from their tweets and social media posts.
It’s a time when we all get a better look at the personal side of each other’s lives, and I find that to be integral to continuing to build a solid core of people in this amazing corner of the internet we have created together.
Hell, we even got the G.I. Journey out of the Hasbro crew during the interview I was blessed to be a part of, thanks to my brother Mark having me on with him.
And I truly felt like afterward, we knew those guys better.
So, as we close in on Saturday, I just wanted to say thank you so much to all of my previous guests for helping make my show great.
Thank you to Brother Mark DIMSA for having me on Mondays. This Monday, Bobby Vala will be on the show, and of course, this Saturday, coming into the Viper Den, is Adam, the creator of this wicked freaking cool site!
Saturday at 8:00 PM EST!
Love y’all, and I’ll see you Saturday!
