Remembering Voltar: The Forgotten Iron Grenadier General of G.I. Joe 1988

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m rolling it back to G.I. Joe 1988 and Voltar. This was a great year all around for me. I was working, playing sports, and still was enjoying the awesome craftsmanship and overall heart and talent put into new characters. Even though I don’t remember this character being in an animated series the figure was one I had as a kid and was really cool.
Voltar is Destro’s Iron Grenadier General. He has a very unique look and I wish he would have been a major character in a cartoon. I still have my figure from my childhood a little faded a little broken but he is an awesome figure and had lots of play time in my youth. Even now he would be a really cool addition to a resurrected animated series. There was one modern club exclusive figure but I did not get him. I think he would make a really cool classified figure with a removable helmet of course.
This would add some depth to the Cobra Ranks and his Vulture/Condor would look be cool in this scale. I hope to see him one day. What do you guys think of Voltar? Who had him as a kid? Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
