G.I.Joe ‘Hard Master and Snake Eyes’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the outpost. Today I’m looking at some modern G.I.Joes. The 2008, set number 10, comic 2 pack featured the Hard Master and Snake Eyes apprentice. I never was into the comics as a kid and I think it was mostly because they were not readily available in the small town I grew up in, but I got into them a little, well at least reading them when they released the comic packs in 2008. They released a huge amount of awesome comic 2 packs this year and the Hard Master pack was one…

G.I.Joe ‘Tiger Force’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Today I’m going to check out the G.I.Joe Tiger Force sub group as a whole. I had a couple as a kid, the Tiger Paw, Dusty, and the Tiger Fly that came with Recondo. I really liked these as a kid and I have the 2 figures still and a very beat up Tiger Fly, I’m not sure what happened to my Tiger Paw. Now as an adult collector I have most of the figures from this group in my collection, but just my really beat up Tiger Fly and…

G.I.Joe ‘Short Fuze’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the outpost. Today I’m going to jump back to 1982 and a G.I.Joe character that I feel hasn’t gotten enough love over the years, Short-Fuze. Short-Fuze is one of my favorite original characters. He was one of the first Joes I received as a child. He had a mortar and I loved the Joes with the face visor. These really stuck out to me as a 7 year old. Sadly, he only had a handful of upgrades. The 2005 version was cool and he got a pair of shades to bring a bit…

G.I.Joe ‘Star Brigade Aliens’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

1994 Star Brigade Aliens I was a high school senior in 1994 and was not in tune with the G.I.Joe world at the time, Later on as a collector I discovered some great figures. Space Shot, Gears, and Sci-Fi are some of my favorites from this year. There are 3 characters that were very much unlike the rest though, the Aliens. These were somewhat odd I guess in a military based toy, but I thought the first time I saw them that they were pretty cool. Carcass is the first of the trio. He…

2003 G.I.Joe Built to Rule Armadillo Assault! Welcome to the outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a vehicle I never had, the G.I.Joe Built To Rule Armadillo Assault. It looks interesting and I’m wondering what everyone thinks about this line as a whole. I do have a few of the figures I’ve found loose over the years and they don’t look to bad. I was able to find a couple videos on this one in particular, and I thought this was a pretty cool idea. From what I gather this…

G.I.Joe ‘Crimson Twins’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe out there. Tomax and Xamot have always been 2 of my favorite G.I.Joe characters. The original characters had a unique uniform, gun, and the sky hook was awesome. I didn’t get these as a kid, but my brother got them for his birthday. I’m pretty sure I played with them way more than he did. I took some string and made an extra long line for them to zip down. I still have the heads and a couple legs but these were played with…

G.I.Joe ‘Sgt. Savage’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Today I’m going to take a look at another 1995 G.I.Joe launch, and much like the G.I.Joe Extreme line, it only lasted that year. As you probably know I’m speaking about the SGT. Savage line. Another line I may not have bought at retail, but I purchased these in a collection and was pleased when I found these. 1995 was during my college days so I was running around getting drunk and chasing girls, so this was a line I knew nothing about until I acquired these by chance. There wasn’t many characters in this line,…

G.I.Joe ‘Beachhead’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Today we are looking at G.I.Joe Beachhead, one of the all time greatest Joes. Wayne Sneeden is an Army Ranger. The original 1986 was just a great figure all around. His uniform and weapons were just awesome. As a kid I never had a Beachhead figure. He was a great character and played the roll in the 1987 G.I. Joe the movie as the hard nosed drill instructor training a class of misfits. He also was a staple in the cartoon. Over the years Beachhead has had a number of upgraded figures. He…

‘G.I.Joe Extreme’ By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Welcome to Outback’s Outpost. Today I’m going to dive into a short lived toy line, the 1995 G.I.Joe Extreme toy line. When G.I.Joe Extreme hit toy shelves, these were not the Joes we were used to having. We went from some of the best articulated figures to statues. I acquired a lot of these figures a few years back in a collection I bought. These are not something I would normally have bought from retail, but since I have them they do have some collectible value. Some of the characters developed into…
