G.I. Joe Underappreciated Featuring ‘Raptor’!

February 20, 2023February 20, 2023 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, Cobra, G.I.Joe, Hasbro1 Comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at an under appreciated G.I. Joe Cobra figure that I had as a kid and I thought he was really cool, the 1987 Raptor. I always loved the uniqueness of the characters especially in the later eighties. One of the most distinct features of Raptor is that big honking nose. I love the design of his outfit especially his cape. I always assumed he could fly with his cape but I’m not sure now, I think this is just cosmetic. It…

Story By Mitchell Smith Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at an under appreciated G.I. Joe Cobra vehicle the 1989 Battlefield Robot Hovercraft. Not the most glamorous vehicle and comes with a less glamorous name, this is a vehicle I myself did not particularly like and I never had one at any time. Recently I came across one and picked it up just because I never had one. Now, coming into 1989 Hasbro had put out tons of awesome vehicles from the Vamp to the Condor. This…

G.I. Joe UNDERAPPRECIATED FEATURING ‘TECHNO-VIPER’!

January 20, 2023January 20, 2023 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, Cobra, G.I.Joe, Hasbro0 comment

Story by Mitchell Smith Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at one of my favorite G.I.Joe Cobra Vipers that seemed to not get enough love, Techno-Viper. The 1987 Techno Viper is one I got for Christmas that year. He reminded me of the Cylon from Battlestar Galactica, but maybe that was the inspiration for this Viper. This, in my opinion is a great figure. I’m not sure what it is about this figure that people don’t like. First off I love the color. These are not battle…

MY FAVORITE G.I.JOE FROM 1987 – STORY BY MITCHELL SMITH!

December 4, 2022December 4, 2022 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, Cobra, Cobra Commander, G.I.Joe, Hasbro2 Comments

Welcome to the Outpost. 1987 is a year a lot of G.I. Joe fans started to loose interest. The original fans were getting older and some did not like the whole Cobra La theme. Then there were those who were just getting interested in G.I. Joe. For me I was just getting rolling. I loved the movie and once again my brothers and I got most of the vehicles and figures from this year. This year I knew what was mine was theirs and what was theirs was mine. I…

G.I.Joe ‘Firefly’ Discussion with Mitchell Smith!

October 27, 2022October 27, 2022 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, Cobra, Firefly, G.I.Joe, Hasbro0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a G.I.Joe character that weaves into many stories. Firefly was a staple character in the original cartoon and his original figure was unique and popular right from the get go. Firefly played into the murder of the Hard Master, there was a lot of debate back in the day on how much he was involved in the whole deal. Firefly had many interesting versions over the years including 2 very green versions in the nineties. There were several modern 25th…

G.I.Joe ‘Bombstrike’ Discussion with Mitchell Smith!

October 3, 2022October 3, 2022 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, Bombstrike, Cobra, G.I.Joe, Hasbro0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a 2005 G.I.Joe character that would have been really cool to see in an animated series, ‘Bombstrike‘. ‘Bombstrike‘ is a great character with a cool back story. Her one brother became a Joe and the other a Cobra. I find this story intriguing and would love to see it expanded to some degree. I never knew anything about Bombstrike till 2006 when I came across her, packaged with Croc Master, at Big Lots for $5.00. I was in the infancy…

G.I.Joe 1989 ‘H.E.A.T. Viper’ Review!

September 27, 2022September 27, 2022 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, Cobra, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, Heat Viper0 comment

Story by Mitchell Smith Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at 1989 G.I.Joe Cobra H.E.A.T. Viper. This was nearing the end of my childhood days of getting figures but my Mom came through this year and I ended up with this figure. He is a really cool figure loaded and ready to take out a Mauler. Fiber-Optics was a foreign word at the time and this guy was futuristic for his time. That was the great thing about Joes in the eighties, they really were teaching us…
