G.I.Joe 1989 ‘H.E.A.T. Viper’ Review!

Story by Mitchell Smith

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at 1989 G.I.Joe Cobra H.E.A.T. Viper. This was nearing the end of my childhood days of getting figures but my Mom came through this year and I ended up with this figure. He is a really cool figure loaded and ready to take out a Mauler. Fiber-Optics was a foreign word at the time and this guy was futuristic for his time.

That was the great thing about Joes in the eighties, they really were teaching us about all the cool technology we take for granted today. This figure had a real cool gun that some may argue was the start of the oversized weapons but this one really worked well. Along with this was a really cool and unique pack and of course the bazooka shells that detached from his boots.

This figure really captured the past, present, and future. There were a few versions of this figure including the 2014 modern version that captured so eloquently the original version in all his beauty. I’m hoping we get a 6 inch classified version of this Viper because he would be pure gold.

I can’t wait to see this one come out as he has always been a fan favorite. Who is a fan of the H.E.A.T. Viper? Who had this one as a kid? MAKE THE JUMP to the forums and share your thoughts with us and as always, make sure to check back for our next discussion.
