The POP-EXPOSE

THE POP EXPOSE ‘Pat Morita’ Story By Mitchell Smith!

Good morning everybody. Today I’m talking about Pat Morita born June 28th 1932, and passed away at the age of 73. Morita is best known as Mr. Miyagi from the Karate Kid movies and series. Among his star roll movie Morita acted in several movies and TV shows over the years. In the early days of his career he has rolls in shows such as Green Acres, M.A.S.H., and Welcome back Cotter. His acting career was strong over the years and he also played rolls in more recent shows including Married With Children, Baywatch Hawaii, and Boy Meets World.

Out side of the Karate Kid series Morita also had rolls in movies such as one of my favorites Savannah Smiles, Bloodsport 2 & 3, and Miss Castaway. Morita also did voice acting in films like Mulan, and shows like SpongeBob. For me I will always know him as the beloved Mr. Miyagi and I quote many times in one week some of his lines such as “wax on wax off.”

Morita has shown up in pictures, old clips, and in memories in the 2018 series Cobra Kai and his legacy is reborn in the series. Morita is one of those faces you will never meet and to bad he isn’t still around I think he would have made an awesome Soft Master. RIP Pat “Mr. Miyagi” Morita. Your name will live on for many years to come. Are you a fan of Pat Morita’s work? Sound off below and let us know!
