THE POP EXPOSE ‘Remembering Burt Reynolds’ By Mitchell Smith!

Burt Reynolds was born in 1936 and passed away last week at the age of 82. Burt lived a full life with ups and downs but he became an icon in the late 70s and 80s. He was in several hit movies such as Deliverance, Cannonball Run, Boogie Nights, The Longest Yard and Smokey and the Bandit which he is probably best known for.

He worked with a stellar cast throughout his acting career and made many friends including, Johnny Carson, Jerry Reed, and Dom DeLuise. He had a love affair with his Bandit bride Sally field, but they never married in real life. Burt played football for Florida State which he played halfback on a scholarship. He dreamed of playing professional till he injured his knee and ended his sports career. So Burt ended up in film and the rest is history. It is hard to believe another movie icon is gone.

Burt will not be forgotten. I can’t imagine the 80’s without Burt on the big screen. Smokey and the Bandit was one of my favorite movies growing up. He was so good bringing the character to life and you couldn’t help but fall in love with him. Burt will be missed but never forgotten, RIP Burt. What are your favorite Burt Reynolds moments? Let us know AFTER THE JUMP!
