Exploring the 2006 Sigma 6 Ninja B.A.T.: A Unique Spin on a Classic Army Builder

Story by Mitchell Smith
Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m checking out the 2006 G.I.Joe Sigma 6 Ninja B.A.T. I loved the original B.A.T.s, and had 1 when I was a kid. I’ve since collected some of the 90s and 2000s styles B.A.T.s figures. They are all pretty cool and are among some of my favorite army builders. This version is based more off the 2004 or a combination of 2004 versions with an added spin to make it stand out as its own original design.
The whole Sigma 6 line is intriguing to me. These are not as accurate or life like as the Classified or even the original figures, but they just have a cool factor to them. This Ninja B.A.T. comes with a rifle, a sword, and 2 daggers. They do give off a Sith lightsaber vibe, but they are still pretty cool. The figure also has retractable blades in his sleeve, removable chest plate, and one arm can be pulled out and it is attached to a string that can be retracted as well. There is a great bit of articulation and the bigger foot design makes it easy to pose this figure in many positions.
This definitely has a great deal of play value and I’m sure these were fan favorites when they first came out. Although I don’t remember seeing this figure in stores back in the day, I would have had to pass this guy up for baby formula and diapers. Overall this is a great design and I think it would be interesting to someday see it in a 3-3/4 inch style and maybe even a Classified style figure. For now I will take this figure for what it is and just enjoy seeing it in its original form. Did anyone have this figure when it first came out? Does anyone have one now? Make sure to check back next week for the next discussion at The Outpost.
