G.I.Joe

All Things Gi Joe!

By Destro Designs – Viper Den Studios

A couple of months ago, my daughters brought home this 2-inch Duke figure they got from a dollar store, and I loved it. A couple of weeks later, they got me Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander.

All three are totally awesome. And I absolutely love having them MOC, along with another set to open.

Obviously, I love them because they were gifts from my daughters, but they were also just super-thoughtful gifts.

And I started to realize that I have developed an eye for things other than figures and vehicles from Classified or the 3¾-inch line.

I have a ThreeZero Snake Eyes V4, and I can’t stop staring at that thing when I walk into the studio…but still, it’s a figure.

What I also have is the set of G.I. Joe trading cards from 1991 that was given to me by my brother Ash on the Twitter timeline. I could stare at those things all day. They feature incredible versions of the characters—sometimes versions we already knew and, other times, completely different versions we’d never seen before.

I was getting into these sets of cards just as I was getting out of collecting figures and moving into sports cards and playing sports. But these cards, as well as some of the awesome figures that came out later, like Ambush, kept me around.

Another thing I’m really enjoying is the Hot Wheels crossover with G.I. Joe. I have the H.I.S.S. and the Skystriker—four Skystrikers, to be exact, and only one H.I.S.S.—but they’re really freaking cool.

And all of this leads me to talk about all the different things there are to collect.

That brings me to my guest this week on the podcast, YT, who has an incredible collection of G.I. Joe and Army-related collectibles.

Join me Saturday at 8 PM Eastern Time to see the coolest G.I. Joe collection you’ve ever seen!

Love y’all, see you Saturday!

And don’t forget to enter the Pick ‘Em contests here on the Lair!
