Taylor reunion! Tim’s former ‘Home Improvement’ co-stars Jonathan and Patricia Richardson starred on his sitcom ‘Last Man Standing’ on Jan 9, and gave fans quite the flashback Friday — with plenty of ‘Home Improvement’ jokes, of course!
We’ve been missing our beloved and crazy Taylor family! We were beyond excited to see Patricia Richardson and Jonathan Taylor Thomas make cameos on Tim Allen‘s new show, Last Man Standing. It brought back so many memories from their ’90s sitcom, Home Improvement, and we loved every minute of it.‘Home Improvement’ Reunion: Jonathan Taylor Thomas & Tim Allen Back Together
During Patricia’s guest-starring stint, she plays Helen Potts, a divorced neighbor of Tim’s character, Mike. Her loud power tools drive him crazy, which is obviously a (subtle?) tribute to the beloved 90s sitcom. She even wears two of the same outfits which she wore on Home Improvement! “You like tools?” she asks. “Not as much as I used to,” Tim responds. So funny!
Though they bicker like an old married couple throughout the episode, by the end of the episode their characters become friends. Mike wants to finish helping Helen renovate her home, and as they go into her yard, JTT pops up in a quick cameo — a full blown Taylor family reunion right before our eyes!

Jonathan originally came to the set to promote the mini-reunion of his TV parents, but the producers asked if he would step in for a cameo as well, according to People. We’re so glad he did because his cameo pretty much brought the entire episode together! JTT has also appeared in other episodes of the sitcom, and even directed some as well.
Patricia Richardson: Tim Was ‘Mine First’
Tim’s former TV wife Patricia, admitted that it was “weird” to watch Nancy Travis play Tim’s wife on the show instead of her. The actress even admitted to feeling a little territorial!
“When you two went and did a bedroom scene the other day and got into bed I thought, ‘What’s she doing in bed with him? Get that woman out of here!,’” Pat said to Tim on set, according to TVGuide.com. “It’s a little weird!”
