THE POP EXPOSE ‘Tom Petty’ By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , 0 comment

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers was formed in 1976 and they performed right up to Tom’s death in 2017. Petty was a huge influence on the music world and this was the first and last band I saw in concert. I went to see him in 1992 right after his Into the Great Wide Open album was released. This was such a great album and it was right at the end of my childhood Joes. The Great Wide Open was one of the first albums I bought with my own money…

G.I.Joe ‘1989 Deep Six’ Reviewed By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Today I want to discuss the 1989 G.I.Joe Deep Six. This is such a great figure. The colors and the removable helmet are just Awesome on this figure. I actually have several of this one and it is a great army building deep sea diver. Heads are easily swapped and the helmet fits perfectly with many other figures. The air pack with this figure has a lot of detail and he also comes with a unique gun. I thought this one would have been a prime choice for a modern update…

‘G.I.Joe DOC’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost, today I’m sticking with 3-3/4 inch G.I.Joe characters. Doc was the original medic on the Joe team from 1983. The Original Doc figure came with a stretcher, a flare launcher, and a tan removable helmet that was unique to the other helmets we were used to seeing from 1982. Doc has had a couple upgrades but the best one was the 2008 modern style Doc. This was an upgrade to his original figure and this one was a mail away version. I’m sure this brought back many feelings of growing…

‘G.I.Joe Shooter’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m diving into a modern character that could have been an original 1982 G.I.Joe character. ‘Shooter‘ was one figure I let slip away from me, and I still do not have one of her but someday I think it would be nice to own. This is a pretty unique character especially because the mysteries character appeared in a lineup of Joes in the original comic, but the character was never created for the photo until years later. Originally Snake Eyes was created as a generic solid color figure to…

G.I.Joe ‘Stalker’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Today I want to get into one of the original G.I.Joe characters and one of my all time favorites, Stalker. This is an awesome character who comes with an extended backstory linked to Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Stalker was a unique character and the only one to sport camo in the original line up. I had the swivel arm version as a kid that I got second handed so it wasn’t till around 1985 that I got my first Stalker. I did get the 1989 version 2 of him…
