G.I.Joe ‘Beachhead’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Today we are looking at G.I.Joe Beachhead, one of the all time greatest Joes. Wayne Sneeden is an Army Ranger. The original 1986 was just a great figure all around. His uniform and weapons were just awesome. As a kid I never had a Beachhead figure. He was a great character and played the roll in the 1987 G.I. Joe the movie as the hard nosed drill instructor training a class of misfits. He also was a staple in the cartoon. Over the years Beachhead has had a number of upgraded figures. He…

G.I.Joe ‘Star Brigade’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

April 5, 2020April 6, 2020 Serpentorslair Staff0 comment

Today I’m taking a look at some G.I. Joe Star Brigade figures. I love the Star Brigade series and I wish they would have made more, but I want to take a closer look at the big boxy ones the ‘Armor Tech’ figures. Destro, Duke, Hawk, Heavy Duty, Rock N Roll, Robo-Joe, B.A.A.T. These did not have a ton of articulation but they were pretty cool. These were suits designed to go into deep space. They all came with an Array of weapons but one accessory I love most are the helmets.…

THE POP EXPOSE – ‘The 2020 NCAA TOURNEY That Wasn’t’ By Mitchell Smith!

April 5, 2020April 5, 2020 Serpentorslair Staff0 comment

This Monday would have been the NCAA basketball championship. Normally we would be coming off a month of wild games with last second shots, crazy upsets, and 2 teams left playing for the championship. As we all know that came to a screeching halt 3 weeks ago. So I thought it would be fun to take the last bracket projection and take my picks to the finals. So first round I predict would have been one of the craziest first rounds we have seen in a while, but all 4 number 1…

G.I.Joe ‘Storm Eagle’ and ‘Cobra Liquidator’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

The 1990’s were some interesting time for G.I. Joes. A lot of the figures and vehicles got away from a military looking style Joe, but there were still some pretty cool stuff happening, and think I appreciate the 90 stuff more now, but I was in high school in the 90s so I had gotten out of G.I. Joe and it wasn’t till later in life I rediscovered some of the great 90s stuff. Two vehicles stuck out to me and I was able to get my hands on them and…

Welcome to Outback’s Outpost. Today I’m going to dive into a short lived toy line, the 1995 G.I.Joe Extreme toy line. When G.I.Joe Extreme hit toy shelves, these were not the Joes we were used to having. We went from some of the best articulated figures to statues. I acquired a lot of these figures a few years back in a collection I bought. These are not something I would normally have bought from retail, but since I have them they do have some collectible value. Some of the characters developed into…

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m going to take a break from figures and review one of the greatest midsize play sets at least in my mind. The 1985 G.I.Joe Tactical Battle Platform. This was not huge so this would reach many households and still be able to display without taking over a room. I did not have one unfortunately as a kid but I did pick one up as a collector. There are so many great features on this starting at the top with the helicopter landing pad. This is…

Welcome to the Outpost, hope you all are staying safe and sane. Today I’m going to get into the 12 inch G.I.Joe line. I was born in 75 so I had the pleasure of the 12 inch Joes which lead into the 3-3/4 inch line. The 12 inch has always been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. I have been a collector of 12 inch for quite some time now but I missed out on a lot of great Joes. The 2008 Duke is one…
