June 10, 2021June 10, 2021 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, Dreadnoks, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, toy collecting0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the G.I.Joe Dreadnok Zanzibar and his Air Skiff. This is one I got for Christmas back in 1987 and the whole figure and vehicle are really cool. First you have Zanzibar that is a really cool looking figure. The outfit is unique and he featured a real pony tail. He is also a Dreadnok Then we get to his skiff which might not be the most safest design but what vehicle didn’t defy the laws of logic in the late…

G.I.Joe ‘Wild Bill’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

June 6, 2021June 6, 2021 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, toy collecting, Wild Bill0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m looking at a very popular G.I.Joe character who has been a staple character in the cartoon, comics, and figure line. Wild Bill was first introduced in 1983 and came with an awesome vehicle the Dragonfly. Wild Bill had a unique look and came with his signature cavalry hat. Wild Bill was in many episodes and comics where he always came in to help try and save the day. There have been many versions of Wild Bill and I think every version other then the original came with a removable hat.…

G.I.Joe ‘Barbecue’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a great G.I.Joe character who was popular but kind of faded away. Barbecue is one of the awesome characters from the 1985 hey day. Growing up in a small town I knew lots of people that volunteered on the Fire department and eventually I would put in 5 years as a junior firefighter so it was cool to see Barbecue a part of the Joe team. I also had a 12 inch Firefighter Joe when I was young that was…

G.I.Joe ‘Python Patrol’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m looking at the G.I.Joe 1989 sub group Python Patrol figures. This is an interesting group and brought back some original figures with a cool color scheme. First up is the Python Trooper. This is the original trooper with Python shirt and black pants. The Python officer is mostly black with Python trim. Both look cool but I like the trooper a bit better. The Python Viper is good looking and the Python Crimson Guard is really cool but I like the color scheme on…

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m looking at a staple G.I.Joe vehicle the Cobra F.A.N.G. This was an interesting vehicle introduced in 1984 and was used in many episodes. The original is a neat vehicle and I was pleased to find the modern 2008 version. This was pretty much the original with a few minor tweaks. Finally there is the 2021 version that is a modified version but still has the classic feel. This one does come with a figure and thanks to Terry Ruin’s review a while back I…

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a female G.I.Joe who came on and took the bull by the horns and never looked back. Lady Jaye came on board in 1985. It was nice to see another female come in and be able to take front stage. Lady Jaye was in the forefront of many episodes and had a couple episodes revolve around her. The First figure is a solid staple in anyone’s collection. I did not have one as a kid but this is a unique…
