G.I.Joe ‘Alpine’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Summer is quickly coming to a close and things are getting busy again. So I’m getting back to a fan favorite G.I.Joe character that was in a lot of the animated episodes and has been a staple character over the years, ‘Alpine‘. Alpine is part of the “hey day” 1985 lineup. The mountaineer was a character I could relate to growing up in the high peak mountains. Alpine was one I did not have as a kid but he had a really cool and unique look.…

Transformers Collecting – Story by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Hello everyone, today I’m taking a look at the Transformers franchise. Back in the day Transformers came in and gave a whole different dynamic to toys. A car, animal, or object that could transform into a robot. I loved the animated series as a kid. “Autobots roll out” is still one of my favorite lines. As a kid I did not have any Transformers. Money was always tight and I wanted G.I.Joe more then Transformers. So flash forward a few years or decades maybe lol, and in an attempt to…

Snake Eyes: G.I.Joe Origins ‘Stealth Cycle’ Review by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Last night I had to stop to Walmart for some foil and naturally I stopped by the toy isle and what do you know, there he was, the last one on the shelf, the new Snake Eyes: G.I.Joe Origins Stealth Cycle with Storm Shadow. There was a little hesitation by me so I put him in my cart and proceeded to check out the rest of the isle and on over to get my foil. I debated in my head if I should spend the money…

G.I.Joe ‘Cobra La’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at Cobra La. Back when G.I.Joe: The Movie came out I was well embedded into the GI Joe world. I had 12 inch figures, I had 1982 figures, and I had 1985 figures. A lot of people feel 1985 was the hey day but I loved everything up to 85 and I loved the expansion and continuous creativity of years after that. The Cobra La mainly, Golobulus, Nemesis Enforcer, Pythona, and the Royal Guards were an instant hit for me. The…

G.I.JOE ‘Firebat’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the 2008 G.I.Joe 25th Anniversary Firebat. The original was released in 1986 with the Terrordrome, something I long for, but I have never had. I was happy when they released the Firebat in 2008 as this was a vehicle Cobra used in the cartoon and I just loved the design. So there was no hesitation to pick this one up when I saw it in stores. It just has a sleek look. The Rattler and Skystriker are awesome vehicles but…

G.I.JOE ‘B.A.T.’ DISCUSSION BY MITCHELL SMITH!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at one of the great G.I.Joe 1986 figures that I had, and we ended up with many versions that were pretty awesome, the original Cobra B.A.T. B.A.T. was pretty awesome when it was first released. The really cool thing was there were interchangeable hands and over the years each version has different hands and weapons that attach. The original is awesome and the modern version of the original was a grand slam. The Nineties versions were really cool and I love…
