G.I.Joe ‘NIGHT LANDING’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!
Welcome to the Outpost. G.I.Joe has always had pretty awesome vehicles. The eighties gave us some really spectacular vehicles like the Rolling Thunder, Defiant space shuttle, and the USS Flagg. Bigger is not always better, so there were also a ton of small vehicles to create a world of your own. The 1985 Cobra Night Landing was a small vehicle that packed a huge punch. I did have this one as a kid, but I did not have any Eels so a lot of the time I had Torpedo and eventually Wet Suit stealing the raft and going on a covert operation.
The Night Landing comes with oars, a front machine gun, and motor that click in on all 4 sides. There is a loose radio, shovel, and a couple weapons also. I always did love that little radio. I wish I would have had some Eels growing up, I think this little raft could have held about 10 figures if arranged properly. Over all this is a simple vehicle that has some major pop and just has that cool factor to it. Other lines have made rafts similar to the Night Landing but this is one vehicle that has never been duplicated. I think this would be a perfect vehicle to release for the 6 inch line. I see this single or with a figure such as an Eel or Copperhead maybe. Who loves the Night Landing? Who had one of these growing up? Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
