G.I.Joe ‘Hi-Tech’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a G.I.Joe character that was created for the evolving military. Hi-Tech came on board to create new technological weapons that are aimed more at defeating the enemy with more then just pointing a gun and blowing things up. Hi-Tech was introduced in 2004 in the Valor vs Venom series. I remember picking up this figure back in 2005 at Big Lots. The Dr. Mindbender figure is what caught my eye but Hi-Tech quickly became one of my favorite characters. Hi-Tech…

G.I.Joe ‘The Dreadnoks’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. I’ve been talking about a lot of G.I.Joe sub groups as a whole lately and there is one group that I don’t believe was ever labeled as a sub group but certainly can be considered one. The group is the Dreadnoks. Zartan is the leader but the first three Ripper, Torch, and Buzzer were a huge part of the cartoon and one of my favorite lines is when they say ‘Ello ‘ello ‘ello, and it is followed up with them getting knocked out with an audios…

G.I.Joe ‘Slipstream’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Happy Friday everyone. This was a long week for me but it’s time to let the good times roll. Today I’m taking off with the G.I.Joe Conquest X-30 pilot Slip-Stream. Slip-Stream has 4 versions 1986, 2003, 2004, and modern 2008 version. This is one I got for Christmas in 1986 and is one of my favorite jets. I have a few original shells and it was a no brainer to pick up the 2008 version when it came out, I just wished I had grabbed more…

G.I.Joe ‘Red Spot’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m putting the G.I.Joe 2003 Red Spot in the spot light. He is listed as a laser trooper but I think of the red dot as more of a modern day sniper. That may open up a huge discussion but let’s see what happens. This is a really cool figure with a beautifully textured outfit that makes this figure pop. Along with the solid molded uniform he is equipped with a removable helmet and a ghillie suit that further enhances my theory on Red Spot…

G.I.Joe ‘Night Force’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the 1988 and 1989 G.I.Joe Night Force figures. These were all pretty cool and I know a lot of the figures had toned down colors that were very popular and still are to collectors today. I did not have any Night Force stuff as a kid but I have a lot of them now. 88 had some really cool figures. Crazy Legs, Falcon, Outback, Psyche Out, Sneak Peek, and Tunnel Rat were all nice and anyone who missed the originals…

Which G.I.Joe ‘Pet Teammate’ is your Favorite? Story by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the G.I.Joe Spirit’s pet teammate ‘Freedom’. G.I.Joe was great at incorporating pets into the toy line. Polly is the most famous do to the fact he could talk, so he naturally had a personality that was easy to recognize. Other animals like Order and Junkyard were faithful companions and had solid rolls in the cartoon. Other characters had animals that really only accompanied the action figure such as Croc Master’s crocodile and Voltar’s condor. One of the very first used…

THE POP EXPOSE – Ursula Corbero is the new ‘Baroness’!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , , , , 0 comment

Happy Sunday all. Today we are discussing Ursula Corbero. Corbero was born in 1989 in Barcelona Spain and was interested in acting at a young age. She landed several small rolls in the early and mid 2000’s including “Mirall Trencat” and “Ventdelpla”. Then she landed a major roll playing Tokyo in the hit series “Money Heist” in 2017. She is brilliant as Tokyo and I love this series. Even though it is a bit odd because it is dubbed over, the series is really good and Corbero really brought the…

G.I.Joe ‘Tiger Force’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m getting into the 1988 G.I.Joe Tiger Force sub team figures. I always loved the Tiger Force and I had 2 as a kid. Even though the yellow vehicles are too bright for some peoples liking, this was one of my favorite lines as a kid and still holds today. I had a Tiger Fly and a Tiger Paw as a kid and I loved them both. The 1988 lineup was pretty cool including the Tiger Fly pilot Recondo who is really nice, Frostbite, and…

G.I.Joe ‘Headman’ and ‘Gristle’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out a couple nineties G.I.Joe characters, Headman and Gristle. It seemed like G.I. Joe was being reinvented much like the 12 inch Adventure Team line. This time they took a stand on drug and crime lords. These were well after my childhood days and I thought they looked really cool when I picked them up as a collector. This line brought new D.E.F. Figures like Bulletproof and the Headhunters as well as reviving classic characters like Mutt and Shockwave. Overall I like the…

G.I.Joe ‘Crankcase’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out one of my favorite G.I.Joe figures from 1985 Crankcase. First off he has a very unique name Elwood G. Indiana. So he has two all time great characters in his name. Indiana Jones and Elwood Blues. Really though his name came from cartoonist Elwood Smith and painter Rob Indiana. Crankcase came with one of the greatest Joe vehicles ever made and he has had 2 upgrades one in 2008 and one in 2020. Both upgrades look cool and I have some pictures…
