G.I.Joe ‘Python Patrol’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m looking at the G.I.Joe 1989 sub group Python Patrol figures. This is an interesting group and brought back some original figures with a cool color scheme. First up is the Python Trooper. This is the original trooper with Python shirt and black pants. The Python officer is mostly black with Python trim. Both look cool but I like the trooper a bit better. The Python Viper is good looking and the Python Crimson Guard is really cool but I like the color scheme on the Python Tele-Viper best out of these 3. Last is Python Copperhead. This is a cool version of Copperhead and I think he was meant to be the leader of this group of soldiers.

I did not have any of these as a kid. I think they really pop and it was a way to get some of the figures you may have missed from the earlier lines. I added packs to my trooper and Officer and think they look pretty good as the originals did not have backs. I could not find the black Crimson guard pack so I gave him the red version and I like this one better. I had to sub in a few weapons but most of mine are pretty close to the originals. I did not pick up any of the modern versions but I do have the 2003 set that I will be talking about down the road. This 1989 set is really cool and overall the figures pop. Who likes the Python Patrol line? Who army builds these? Sound off below and let us know! Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
