Thanks to Thathashtagshow.com we have some interesting details about the storyline for G.I.Joe: Snake Eyes! If this is accurate… It will be a complete reboot of anything we know. It was recently reported that Ray Park, who played Snake Eyes in the two previous GI Joe films, would not be returning for the origin film as the studio is looking for a younger actor, preferably someone in their early twenties. When we meet this new, younger Snake Eyes, it’ll be as a street fighter in Peru. Driven by the desire…

Background In Issue 32, the aftermath of the battle near Snake-Eyes’ cabin was brought to a conclusion. One of the earliest Crimson Guardsmen, Fred did not make it. He was replaced with a look-alike who showed up on the doorstep of the Broca residence just outside the gates of Fort Wadsworth. On the Joe side, new Joes began showing up indicating they were replacements. Feel free to check out the review of Issue 32 in case you missed it. Background In Issue 31, we were left with a cliffhanger. Snake-Eyes cabin was blown up with Timber and the main man inside! Just outside, but well within the blast zone are Destro, Firefly, and a Crimson Guardsman named Fred Broca. Spirit and Airborne from the Joes are there as well. The battle had gone down to the last man, and a bomb had just exploded, gravely depreciating the value of Snake-Eyes‘ cabin. Background At the end of the 2 part Origin of Snake-Eyes issues, Zartan, the Baroness, Destro, Cobra Commander, Firefly and Wild Weasel are all in pursuit of the Joe recon team who has given them the slip. Larry Hama intertwined the ongoing story developing in the Florida swamps along with the origin story and the exciting ninja chase. Zartan was frustrated and said it was time to call in the Dreadnoks. The tease for Issue 28 on the last page of 27 was “Enter the Tank-Smashers.” On to the issue…

Background Snake-Eyes has been shrouded in mystery since the first issue. Issue 26 is the first part of this origin story. Please make sure to read that one first. In addition to the Snake-Eyes origin story, the ongoing covert actions in the Florida swamps near Zartan’s cabin continues. Issue 25 (“Zartan!”) ended with Junkyard coming right to the cabin door. Zartan was brandishing his pistol and was about to put the “stray” out of its misery. Issue 26 ended with Junkyard leading the Cobras into a pit of quicksand. On…

Background Snake-Eyes has been shrouded in mystery since the first issue. We have hints that he doesn’t wear his mask for fun. The older Joes seem to be more respectful, and newer Joes or strangers seem to gasp in horror at his visual appearance. That being said, there are a lot of questions readers have about the Commando. In more recent issues we are privy to the fact that Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow, the Cobra ninja, have the same red tattoo symbol on their right forearms. How are these…

Background Last issue Cobra Commander escaped due to Storm Shadow’s tenacity and self-sacrifice. During the issue, Major Bludd revealed to Destro and the Baroness that he hid a transmitter in the handle of Storm Shadow’s sword. They were planning to track where Storm Shadow had gone to try and rescue the Commander. They sent Firefly and a man in red known as “the pilot” (Wild Weasel) to the swamps near the Everglades where the transmitter signal was pinging at a shack. As the issue drew to a close, the Commander…

Background In the previous issue, major and important side characters on both sides died. This issue does not address this in any way. It is as if this issue was not part of the main story line at all. More about that in a moment. Clutch was the first Joe I ever owned in the 3 ¾ line. I didn’t own this comic until much later, and was given a copy by a friend who had ruined his after reading it several times. (I might re-take some of the pictures…
