Story By Mitchel Smith Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the G.I. Joe 1989 Cobra Fang II. 1989 was a year I received many figures and vehicles including the Fang. I did not have the original Fang so this was something new and cool. At the time I did not think about all the other great vehicles that had been made up till this point. Let’s face it many vehicles and figures from the early eighties were so awesome a second version was like watching “Speed…

Story By Mitchell Smith Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the G.I. Joe Cobra Eel. One thing is for sure whether you are an old school Joe fan, a new fan, or middle of the road fan, the 1980s Joes were all pretty awesome. One of the coolest figures in 1985 was the Cobra Eel. We already had Torpedo from 1994 and we would soon get Wet-Suit in 1986, so having the Eel was perfect for the underwater battles. I did not have an Eel as…

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look 2008 as a whole. This was a stellar year. Anybody who enjoyed the 25th style Joe from 2007 better have had their pants strapped on because there was a GI Joe explosion about to happen. Filled with comic packs, DVD battle packs, and filled with the iconic vehicles that helped make GI Joe so popular to begin with. I was able to pick up a great deal this year including all the DVD packs and most of the comic packs. Some…

Welcome to the Outpost. Wow what a year 2023 has been. I know there have been a lot of Joes we have been anticipating, but Hasbro really cranked out a lot of classified figures from several different years and multiple generations. I love the Classified line but the 3-3/4 inch will forever fill my heart. I went through my favorite Christmas hauls from 1982-1994, now I want to take a look at when I started collecting and some of those highly anticipated and sometimes hard to find figures. It seems…

Story by Mitchell Smith Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a G.I. Joe character’s figure that is under appreciated in my opinion. Scarlett was an original 13 and the first female on the Joe team. At the time this was an interesting move having a female character in a toy line aimed at young boys. The character and original figure worked well and Scarlett was an instant fan favorite. Apparently someone up stairs didn’t get the memo and it would take 11 years for Scarlett to…

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at an underappreciated G.I. Joe vehicle the Swampmasher. The 1988 Swampmasher is an interesting vehicle. I did not have one of these as a kid so it wasn’t till around 2015 I discovered this vehicle. I’m not sure if it’s the color scheme or the design that turn people’s noses up at this one, but I personally like this one. Sure an olive green body with black tires may have made for a more realistic vehicle but I think the green…
