G.I.Joe ‘1996-1999 VEHICLES’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. This Sunday I’m taking a look at the 1996-1999 G.I.Joe vehicles. G.I.Joe was in a major fall out in the late nineties. 1995 introduced 2 new lines and wrapped up the 3-3/4 inch line tight, went deep in the woods and dug a deep hole to bury it. 1996 was an absolute dude with no vehicles produced. The original Joe fans that grew up with G.I. Joe were now starting families of their own and Were looking for something to pass down to their children. The cry was heard and 1997 posted the Stars and Stripes forever line. After the 2 year hiatus they came back with some popular vehicles in new color schemes.

The A-10 Thunderbolt is the Rattler repainted green for the Joe team. The original is one of my all-time favorites, and although I do not have this version, this one is awesome. They released the Slugger in tan color and this is another one of my favorite original Joe vehicles. This one looks sweet and would be great to have and set up with other great desert vehicles such as the Desert Fox. Another one of my all-time favorite vehicles was also recolored and released. This time the Silver Mirage was released in a black and silver color scheme. I love the original but these colors look awesome and make this vehicle pop. I only hope to come across one someday. The Night Landing S.E.A.L. raft is an all-black Night Landing. This one looks cool, but I like the original Cobra blue one better. The Flight Pod is a dark grey and light grey camo scheme Trouble Bubble, it is cool looking but again I like the original white Cobra one. This would look really cool with the original Firefly in it. The Cobra Rage is a black and blue color scheme. This does look pretty cool especially if you did not like the original red and tan colors. The Stars and Stripes Forever is a cool set.

I remember seeing it at TRU but I passed on it. Some of the figures like Breaker and Rock N Roll were a bit off, but the other figures were nice. Over all this was not a horrible year and all the vehicles were pretty awesome. 1998 had 3 vehicles. The Cobra Rattler 4-WD which is a cool looking Stinger. A camo colored Conquest X-30 which is a really cool looking vehicle. To round out the year a camo colored Mobat. I did not have any of these but they all look pretty cool. 1999 once again posted a big OL’ goose egg. I guess we had a year to prepare for Y2K. Who has any of the 1997 or 1998 vehicles? What is your favorite 1990s vehicle over all? I’m going to have to say my favorite 90s vehicle is the 1990 Avalanche. It’s just an awesome vehicle. Make sure to check back for our next discussion. Sound off AFTER THE JUMP and tell us your favorite!
