G.I.Joe ‘2000 & 2001 Vehicles’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. This week I’m taking a look at the 2000 & 2001 G.I.Joe vehicles. G.I Joe was in a major rebuild at the turn of the millennium. There were a limited amount of vehicles released in these 2 years but eventually someone up-stairs realized that there was a large number of G.I. Joe fans and people wanted Joes. So in 2000 they released the camo colored Mobat again. Then there is the Locust a tan colored Dragonfly which I don’t have one of these but what do I have to say about a desert Dragon Fly, just an awesome vehicle.

Then there is the Man-O-War, a black, silver, and red Barracuda repainted for Cobra. This one actually looks pretty cool, and I like the original mini sub as well. Last a really cool Hiss, it’s the original shape with a new color scheme. 2000 was short and sweet that’s why I decided to lump in 2001. 2001 has a black A.W.E Striker that looks pretty awesome. The Cobra Wave Crusher which is a dark grey Shark. This is one of my favorite Joe vehicles so why not paint it dark and give it to Cobra. There is a headquarters that is the 1992 repainted, which seems a bit odd to release a base when they were trying a relaunch of the franchise, but nevertheless this one looks cool.

There is the Night Landing Craft that looks like a small rescue/utility boat that maybe could go fetch a stranded Devil Fish out of the water. I’d like to see this one in hand to judge how cool it is. Finally to round out 2001 is the Desert Strike. A Tan colored Vamp with a newly designed front and rear that just snaps onto the original frame. This one looks really cool and I hope to come across it someday. All in all these were pretty nice vehicles over the course of 2 years. These years paved the way for what was going to become a total relaunch of the G.I. Joe glory days. Does anyone own any of these early 2000 vehicles? Which one is your favorite? Sound off AFTER THE JUMP and let us know! Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
