G.I.Joe ‘Psyche Out’ By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today we are taking a look at another 1987 G.I.Joe character that didn’t get used much in the cartoon or maybe not at all, but I got this figure as a kid and loved him. Psyche-Out is a Psy-OPs soldier who uses his skills in deceptive warfare. He has a degree in Psychology so I guess he would also be a bonus to the Joe team for anyone suffering from PTSD.

I really loved this figure when I got it though. The colors were cool. His pack and accessories were unique and I loved them. He had a unique head sculpt and the antenna was a great feature on this figure. I don’t ever remember him in the cartoon, but was in comics as I am recently discovering a new world about comics do to the Lair, thank you for that.

I have the 3 o-ring versions of Psyche-Out but I do not have the modern versions. It’s hard to judge by pics alone but I love the original version the best. There was a lot of thought put into creating this figure and this character. I think now that Psyche-Out could have had a cool backstory of why he got into Psychology. Maybe there is something in the comics but I am now interested to try and learn more about one of my favorites from 1987. Who loves Psyche-Out? Who has a modern Psyche-Out? I’m interested to see how he compares to the original figure. Do you know of any good comic issues that shed some light on this character? Sound off AFTER THE JUMP and let us know! Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
