G.I.Joe

G.I.Joe ‘Tomahawk’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today we are discussing the 1986 G.I.Joe Tomahawk. I love helicopters. The Fang, the Dragonfly, and the Mamba are all favorites of mine, but the Tomahawk is the number 1 greatest G.I. Joe helicopter. I had one of these as a kid and I remember sleeping with it I loved it so much. I think it had its own pillow LOL. What an awesome design this is. From the canopy, to the twin rotor blades, right down to the tip of the back cargo door. I remember sending my Joes on many missions with this helicopter.

The colors scheme, compartments, and the winch hook on the bottom are all features that made this vehicle so special to me as a kid. It is a large vehicle but it doesn’t take over a room so it is still very nice to display. The vehicle also came with a very unique pilot Lift Ticket. I like the look of this figure he was very unique and played a large roll in the cartoon. I believe Lift Ticket was also big in the comics but I’m not sure about that one. In 2009 they released a modern version of Lift Ticket with the Ghost Hawk. This version is based on the original figure and is awesome.

The Eaglehawk was released in 2013 and it is pretty dang close to a Tomahawk. I have both and I love the original looking Lift ticket in this chopper. Although the only thing I have left of my original Tomahawk as a kid is an engine cover, someday I hope to restore my original Tomahawk. This is just one awesome helicopter and is in my top 10 for all time vehicles. Who has a Tomahawk and/or an Eaglehawk? Who thinks Lift Ticket is an awesome character? Sound off AFTER THE JUMP and let us know. Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
