G.I. JOE UNDERAPPRECIATED FEATURING “COUNTDOWN”!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a G.I. Joe figure from 1989. Countdown is a figure I had as a kid, and loved this figure. I always thought he was a cool unique figure but may be under appreciated. The original Countdown has a cool color scheme. I love his unique removable helmet and his back back that was on a string so he could fly.
There were a couple other versions in the nineties but they were just repainted versions of the original. As far as I can tell he got the complete stiff arm on a modern version. Sometimes hard to tell which figures got an upgrade in the late 2000’s as I did not go after any of the club exclusives. I don’t see where he was in a cartoon or comic as well.
Which I did not realize till I started researching Countdown. I think Countdown would make a great Classified astronaut as Countdown was a single carded figure and did not come with a vehicle. Who is a fan of Countdown? Who had this as a kid? Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
