G.I.JOE UNDERAPPRECIATED FEATURING “SNEAK PEEK”!

Story by Mitchell Smith

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at another G.I. Joe figure from 1987. Sneak Peek is a figure I got for Christmas in 1987. I always thought he was a cool unique figure but may be considered under appreciated. Of course we all know he has Stephen King’s son’s name Owen King which is cool. I always thought he had a cool file name and a cool look. I always wished Sneak Peek had a removable helmet but he didn’t. This would have made the original figure pop. The modern version did have a removable helmet and was really cool, but I don’t have that version. He did come with some cool gear and even though his scanning device is a bit large it’s still a cool unique piece of equipment. I feel he would not be dragging this through the field with him, rather using this for long range surveillance then leaving it in the car once he goes to get a closer look to see what Cobra is up to. Round him out with some cool

Binoculars and an M-16 and we are talking about one of my favorite figures from this year. I don’t remember Sneak Peek from the cartoon and not sure how big or small he was in the comics. There was never a 12 inch version but I’m thinking of doing a custom. The figure would be easy but I would have to make his equipment tower from scratch. Might be fun I’ll keep you posted.

As far as 6 inch classified I would love to see Sneak Peek. I think this would be one of those figures you could add some really cool surveillance equipment or give him an outpost and make it a $45 figure, bang they would fly of the shelves, or be delivered to everyone’s doorstep in today’s world. Either way this is a cool figure and I’m happy I had him as a kid. Who had Sneak Peek as a kid? Share your thoughts and stories with us in the comments below.
