Outback’s Outpost ‘Frostbite’ By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Last week I had some snow before it turned unseasonably warm for my area. Nevertheless, I know the snow is inevitable so I’ll start this week off with one of my all time favorite G.I.Joe characters FrostbiteFrostbite was released in 1985 with one of my all time favorite vehicles the Snow Cat. I remember the day my older brother came home with this vehicle.

I watched as he put it together and I had my chance to hold Frostbite as he assembled the vehicle. I just love the design of the 1985 Frostbite. This was not an over complicated figure but he was unique and had enough to make me fall in love. Most of the detail was in his shoulder fur covering and his head sculpt. The head was brilliant. His signature hat with goggles and the beard and smile that melted my heart. Frostbite also had a unique rifle with a large scope that just made the whole figure pop.

Frostbite has had a number of upgrades over the years including modern versions, but none have ever matched the original 1985 figure. Frostbite was a stable in many winter missions in the cartoon and I assume he was in the comics as well. Frostbite is an awesome character and remains one of my all time favorites. Who loves Frostbite? Sound off AFTER THE JUMP and let us know. Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
